November 2007

Dear Family & Friends,

Greetings in Jesus Christ our Redeemer! Below are testimonies that will stir up your faith, just as they have ours. God cares for us and desires to work deeply in our lives.

Rosa turned away from serving the Lord 3 yrs. after experiencing financial abuse in a local church with the leaders. Her sister & brother both attended the Lily and would invite her, but her hurt & suspicion prevented her from reaching out. Her health went down quickly; she lost 26 pounds in 30 days, her memory was not functioning, & she was losing all coordination. After having an endoscopy, she was finally diagnosed: the Killer Bacteria was eating her stomach up & had little chance of survival. Her sister was the only one to visit her, so Rosa asked Soledad to pray for her. To her amazement, Soledad told her to pray for herself, since she willingly turned her back on God. At that, Rosa repented and asked the Lord to give her another opportunity to serve Him with all her heart, soul, & being.  Her healing took three months, but one year from the day when she became deathly ill, her health was restored. She is now a faithful member at the Lily along with other family members, and she also oversees the daily programming of Radio Fuego. She has a burden to help the extremely poor children who live near the river in temporary cardboard housing. We are so blessed to have such a godly, compassionate person, who is full of integrity, using her gifting as part of the team at the Lily & Radio Fuego!  We thank God for her servant’s heart & vision to reach the lost & minister to the Body of Christ.

Johann’s found himself financially stressed at the beginning of the school year since finances were tight for everyone & his car painting business was in the red. One lady in particular owed him for a job completed and he prayed sincerely, begging the Lord that this lady would remember about her debt, but with no avail. When he spoke to his wife, Monica, about the situation, she asked him if he had knelt down & humbled himself before the Lord. He confessed that he had not, but the following morning, he was on his knees, humbly in prayer & supplication making his request known to the Lord with his pregnant wife also praying for him.  Johann experienced a fresh, new anointing to face the day. On his way to work, he went to a friend to request a loan, only asking for half the needed amount, but his friend loaned him double the amount requested. Later in the day, he had a visitor: the customer who spoke into his life 3 yrs earlier that God had a plan for him. (Until that time, he was consumed with alcohol & soccer, with little time for his godly wife and 5 yr old son.) As Johann recounted to his friend the great things that God had done in his life, they celebrated together as only family in Christ can understand. Then, a third man arrived saying: Johann, my boss has sent you the money she owes you & is sorry for being late! Johann’s eyes filled with tears as he recognized that his Heavenly Father is a Faithful Provider! Johann is the Youth Leader & dynamic Cell Leader. He also leads a Christian Andino (folk music) group.

As the end of 2007 draws near, our hearts cry out to the Lord for His mercy & provision in time of leanness. We need help to finish this task that has been placed in our care. Finances have decreased this past year, but the bills keep coming in. As we pray for strength, wisdom & capital, we ask you to pray with us and stand with us. To finish the roof, which includes steel beams, galvanized tin, & labor, we estimate $2,500. To complete the well, including fortifying the walls with rebar & cement & then resuming the digging: $5,000. We do need help, and we ask you to pray with us for a miracle.

Thank you for your love and support without which we would not have been able to accomplish what has been finished. Please remember us in your prayers and lift up our hands for the battle is not finish, though we know we win the war in Jesus!

Together in His vineyard for His honor & glory,
